2011 Marston Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 750ml
The 2011 vintage marks our forty-fifth growing season in the Napa Valley, and showcases the elegant, layered and complex qualities of our site.
The 2011 growing season is best described as a ‘Winemaker’s Vintage’, representing the contributions of the vineyard and cellar teams. The 2011 vintage began with a wet Spring that delayed vine development into March, yet provided plush canopies and strong clusters. The moderate Summer required precise vineyard management and fruit adjustments to balance maturity and vine health, and allowed us greater time in the vineyard. Intermittent moisture in early October delayed ripening and lowered yields, and the cooler temperatures were eclipsed by an abundance of sunshine above the fog line later in the month. A beautiful harvest concluded on a sunny eighty degree morning on November 2nd.

Winemaker Tasting Notes: A beautiful bouquet of black cherry, shaved cocoa, white pepper and cassis transition to a concentrated mouth of black currant, tea leaf, pencil shavings and pomegranate. Dark chocolate structured tannins build into notes of raspberry enveloped in peach blossom, delivering an elegant finish of exceptional length. ~ Marbue Marke
